1Selçuk Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, Konya, Türkiye Although neurodeficits have not been observed in patients after rupture or surgery of cerebral aneurysms, cognitive function disorders and personality changes may be seen. As the cerebral areas are supplied by AComA and its perforators, personality changes can develop especially after AComA aneurysm treatment. Personality changes can occur due to reactive or organic reasons after AComA aneurysm treatment. In the literature, many of the relevant studies are focused especially on the pathophysiology related to the differentiation of focal damage secondary to ischemia and diffuse brain damage. While the limbic system and frontal lobe areas are investigated for focal damage, complications and surgical techniques after rupture of an aneurysm are studied in terms of diffuse brain injury. As a result of all these studies, the focus is on focal damage due to the AComA perforators and vasospasm. However, there is still a need for studies to be conducted with advanced radiological techniques with the increasing frequency of endovascular treatments and the developments in technology.
