Çankırı Devlet Hastanesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniği, Çankırı, Türkiye A 30 year old male admitted to our clinic with chronic pain on the back of the right shoulder at the level of scapula and clinical and radiological studies revealed ganglion cyst at the suprascapular region. In electrophsiologic examination, denervation of infrascapular branch of suprascapular nerve and atrophy of infraspinatus muscle was detected. The patient who is a volleyball player did not responded to medical theraphy, therefore surgical excision of the gaglion cycst at the posterior suprascapular region was performed. At the six months control admission, he was free of symptoms and muscle atrophy recovered. Suprascapular nerve entrapment neuropathy is rare kind of peripheral nevre entrapment neuropathies. Medical treatment and nerve blockage are adequate treatment modalities in cases without any mass lesions detected as an etiologic factor. Suprascapular entrapment neuropathy should be considered in differential diagnosis of cervical disc herniation, shoulder pathologies and other entrapment neuropathies with nocturnal pain which tend to radiate to scapula.
