Kayseri Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniği, Kayseri, Türkiye Clear cell meningioma(CCM) is a recently described uncommon histological subtypes of meningioma. Clear cell meningioma is usually occur in young patients , and located in the cerebral convexity, pontocerebellar angle and spinal/intradural (thoracic and lumbar) region. Although it has benign histologic nature, it has a high recurrence rate and potentially aggressive behaviour than other subtypes of convantional meningioma. 65 patients with intracranial and intraspinal CCMs have been reported since 1993. Clear cell meningioma was classified as grade 1 tumor by World Health Organization (WHO) in 1993. The current WHO system classifies CCM as grade 2 due to a high recurrence rates and potentially aggressive behavior. Therefore total surgical removal and long-term follow-up is required.
