Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become the most important radiologic technique for syringomyelia. Three patients with syringomyelia were operated depending on MRI findings, Two patients were treated by Gardner's operation with sringostomy, and in one patient syringostomy was performed. All patients showed postoperative deflation of the syrinx at follow-up MRI evaluation. In the planning of treatment, the diagnostic value was discussed.
