¹Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul, Türkiye Pediatric meningiomas are not simply pediatric counterparts of adult meningiomas. They differ from adult meningiomas in terms of localization, histological subtypes, grades, molecular basis, methylation subgroups, behaviour, and surgery. They are more frequently seen in males, behave more aggressively, and have atypical localization such as intraventricular, intraparenchymal and posterior fossa. For this reason, pediatric meningiomas should be accepted as totally different than adult meningiomas and their treatment and follow-up strategy should be planned accordingly.
