Diagnosis of SEA may be difficult because of nonspesific clinical features. A 44 year old woman, healthy individual with no otherwise predisposing factors, with normal laboratory findings was admitted with severe thoracic back pain for 10 days, generalized weakness and She had suffered of acute progressive paraparesis for 4 days. MRI revealed an posterior epidural abscess T2-T9. A decompressive laminectomy T7-T8 was promptly performed. performed and the abscess was removed. A methicillinsensitive Staphylococcus aureus was cultured. In such cases, both the clinician and the radiology physician should have a high suspicion of epidural abscesses, because their early diagnosis and treatment is important that the outcome of spinal epidural abscess is devastating unless recognized and treated early.
