Masson's tumor can be seen in blood vessels at all areas of the body but mostly seen in dermis and subcuticular tissue. Intracranial Masson's tumor is a very rare entity. According to our knowledge, it has not been reported to cause epidural compression, previously.
METHOD: A50 years-old woman is presented with the complaints of headache and local swelling at the right temporial area. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging of the cranium revealed the tumor of the right temporial reqion. The patient underwent total epidural tumor resection wich. At operation, violet coloured tumor was observed was arising from blood vessels of dura mater. The findings of the pathological examination were compatible with Masson's tumor.
RESULTS: The patient's headache and local swelling were recurred 12 months postoperatively, Therefore, the patient was re-operated and the lesion was totally removed. After second operation, no recurrence occurred at 18 months follow-up period.
CONCLUSION: In this present, Masson's tumor and its clinical and radiological characteristics are presented, since the presence of epidural compression has not been reported in the literature, previously. Microscopic radical curettage of the lesion is mandatory to avoid local recurrence.
