It is more common in women, mostly on the left side. Most of the time, the application complaint is unilateral pulsatile tinnitus and headache. Other presenting symptoms may be visual impairment, otalgia, mastoid pain, dizziness, hydrocephalus, trigeminal neuralgia. It may present with bleeding or signs of intracranial venous hypertension in up to 10% of patients. Failure to detect an abnormal finding in computed tomography (CT) and non-opaque magnetic resonance (MRI) does not rule out the diagnosis. Dilated vessels showing enlarged feeding vessels or ectasic drainage veins can be observed in CT angiography. Dilated pial veins, premature filling venous sinus, dilated sinus or obstructed sinus, white matter edema can be seen in MRI and MR angiography.
