2 Ege Üniversitesi, Hemşirelik Yüksekokulu, İzmir, Türkiye AIM: The aim of this study was to determine levels of daily living activities, deep vein trombosis and pressure ulcer among patients with brain tumour.
MATERIAL and METHODS: Out of 90 patients, 45 were assigned into Group I and the remaining 45 into Group II. Group I received training on a one-to-one basis and were given information .Group II were given a booklet for training . All patients were asked to report their impressions before operations and one, three and six months after operations. Data were collected with socio-demographic features, Pre-/Post-operative Deep Vein Trombosis and Pressure Ulcer Determine and Intervention Form, Barthel Index. Numbers and percentages, a significance test for the difference between two mean values, Chi-square test and variance analysis for repeated measurements, Cohran Q test were used to determine differences in symptoms between Group I and Group II .
RESULTS: There were a significant difference among daily activities and pressure ulcer (p<0,05). There was no significant difference among deep vein trombosis (p>0,05).
CONCLUSION: This study was effected positive to given information for patient of brain tumour's physical symptoms.
