In this report, the findings of computed tomography (CT) of pre-operative and postoperative intervertebral disk disease were quantitatively evaluated, graded and compared with the peroperative findings and post-operative clinical follow-up. There is a good correlation between CT and peroperative findings and in early post-operative period quantitative analysis of fluid accumulation in hemilaminatomy and intervertebral disk space is thought to be a good predictive factor for the post-operative scar formation. We suggest that pre-operative and post-operative quantitative CT analysis of lumber disk disease not only provides diagnosis and planning of surgery but also is a good indicator to predict the possible post-operative complications.
