Quantitative Measurement of Blood-Brain-Barrier Permeability After Ischemia

The distal internal carotid. Middle cerebral artery and azygous anterior cerebral or anterior communucating arteries were isolated and dipped for one hour period by transorbital approach in anesthetized rabbits. Following to one hour focal cerebral ischemia dips were removed and the animals allowed to reperfusion and additional one hour. Cerebral blood Bow measurements were obtained using the radioactive miaospheres before. during and 15 minutes after ischemia. During reperfusion animals were received 30 mg/kg Evan 's Blue intravenously in 10 ml saline solution.
