Lumbar vertebrae transverse process fractures are generally considered minor injuries although they usually occur after relatively high energy traumas. It should not be forgotten that life-threatening injuries of intraabdominal organs, genitourinary system and the retroperitoneal region can accompany these fractures. Thus, we should evaluate a patient with lumbar vertebrae transverse process fracture as multiple trauma and we should be careful to request investigations and consultations related to accompanying injuries. Here, we present a case of psoas muscle hematoma that occurred after lumbar vertebrae 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 left transverse processes avulsion fractures. By means of this case report, we wish to emphasize the injuries accompanying lumbar vertebra transverse process fractures.
