OBJECTİVE: Anaplastic ganglioglioma is a rare tumor of the central nervous system. This tumor arises from malignant transformation of the glial components of gangiogliomas which are classified among mixed neuronal-glial tumors. Anaplastic ganglioglioma is generally a youth and chilhood tumor and its ocurrence in advanced age is extremely rare.

CASE: A 68-years-old lady applied for headache. A right temporal mass was detected a result of investigations. The mass was excised by surgery gross totally. As a result of histopathological examination anaplastic ganglioglioma was diagnosed. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy were applied to the patient.

CONCLUSION: It should be considered that anaplastic gangliogliomas which are more often among youth and childhood tumors can rarely be seen in advanced age and that chemotherapy can be partially effective in these patients.
