1Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Radyoloji Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul, Türkiye Craniosynostosis is a complex malformation characterized by early closure of one or more skull sutures. It is mostly detected in infancy due to cosmetic deformity or more serious functional complications. It may be isolated or part of a syndrome. Isolated forms of craniosynostosis are much more common and less challenging in their management than syndromic ones. Radiology plays a key role in the assessment of craniosynostosis. Computed tomography imaging with 3-dimensional reconstruction remains the mainstay in the diagnosis and management and allows more accurate planning for the surgical procedure by visualizing the complex pathologies in detail. In this review, imaging techniques for the diagnosis of craniosynostosis were described and radiological findings specific to the craniosynostosis types were explained in the context of examples.
