Midface Advancement in Craniosynostosis

1Plastik, Rekonstrüktif ve Estetik Cerrahi Uzmanı, İstanbul, Türkiye Craniosynostosis patients, who should only be treated in multidisciplinary manner with long-term follow-up periods, may need facial advancement surgery somehow in their life span because of upper airway obstruction and/or intraorbital volume deficit. With this article; treatment options, timing of the treatment and the outcomes of the treatment will be reviewed. Subject will be emphasized with short literature review and case presentations. Patients with obstructive upper airway problems, sleep apnea and/or orbital problems definitely benefit from midfacial advancement surgery, which may improve the systemic and psychomotor problems of these patients in the long run.
