Many people suffer from problems related to the lumbar region at some stage of their lives. This can be treated in many different ways depending on the underlying cause. Treatment is mostly multidisciplinary, including patient self-care and physical exercise, pharmacological approaches, interventional procedures and surgery. This study is about the interventional treatment methods that can be applied to patients who do not benefit adequately from conservative treatment. The main interventional treatment modalities are trigger point injections, sacroiliac and lumbar facet joint injections, radiofrequency thermocoagulation, transforaminal and caudal epidural injections, prolotherapy, nucleoplasty, percutaneous vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty, epiduroscopy/epidural lysis, spinal cord stimulation and ozone treatment.
