As technology has advanced, many applications have been used to minimize these risks. Intraoperative imaging (IOI) is one of these. However, IOI provides information about the situation to the surgeon whereas getting information about the process is more important and has priority in order to prevent damage to the neural tissue. In line with all these needs, and following the developments in neurophysiology; the use of intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) has begun.
