Uludağ Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı In this study, fetal cortical tissues obtained from 15-16 day old fetuses (crown-rump length 12-14 mm) were implanted into the ischemic frontoporietal cortex which was performed with occlusion of middle cerebral artery through sub-temporal approach. Ischemic area were controlled with TTC (2-3-5tripheniltetrazolium chloride) staining. Two months after transplantation the rats were tested for evaluation of the effectes of grafts on the spontaneous motor activity and also for survival of the implants on the ischemic area. Sham group of rats showed significant impairment of motor activity. Experimental group showed similar impairment of spontaneous motor activity and there was no surviving grafts also histological examination revealed total necrosis. Anahtar Kelimeler : MCA occlusion.
