It creates serious burdens for patients, their families, and social security institutions. It can lead to prolonged restrictions and injuries. The primary injury is irreversible, but it is sometimes possible to prevent or reverse secondary injury with surgical methods or medical treatments. As the pathophysiology of secondary injury becomes better understood, preventive and regenerative therapeutic options emerge and are developed. Treatment modalities have been determined through extensive literature reviews about therapeutic options. The therapeutic options specified for traumatic brain injury are described in this article.
