In recent years, neuroscience studies of structural and functional connections of the human brain or brain connectivity have led to the birth of a new discipline called network neuroscience. The basis of this new approach is to obtain the brain connections and connectivity maps through neuroradiological methods and to process and analyze the imaging data with various computational tools. While this field of study is of great importance in illuminating the working principles and mechanisms of the brain, it also has the potential to contribute to the understanding of pathophysiology underlying neuropsychiatric disorders, the development of neurosurgical intervention and strategies, and the improvement of clinical outcomes and quality of life of the patients. In the near future, it is expected that the studies on this new field will increase exponentially and become a part of routine neurosurgical practice.
