Focused ultrasound, which is used for thermal ablation in many areas today, can be seen as an alternative treatment option in neurosurgery for movement disorders, neuro-oncological and neuropsychiatric diseases, and neuropathic pain, and many studies are carried out in this area. The biggest obstacle to its use in neurosurgery practice has been the necessity to perform craniectomy as the skull reflects the ultrasound waves and the ultrasound waves cannot be focused due to the propagation of the waves in the bone. With the "Phased array" technology, the necessity of performing a craniectomy has been eliminated. It has become a safer treatment method with the use of MR thermometry guidance. In our article, we aimed to present the clinical applications of MRgFUS and ongoing clinical/preclinical studies in the light of the literature. Anahtar Kelimeler : MRgFUS, Essential tremor, Parkinson"s disease, Tumor ablation, Chronic pain
