1Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi Bakırköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Ruh Sağlığı ve Sinir Hastalıkları Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniği, İstanbul ERAS (Enhanced recovery after surgery) protocols consist of guidelines that have been used for more than 20 years, based on person-centered patient care and prepared in line with the recommendations of scientific evidence-based clinical studies. The studies have shown that the use of ERAS protocols in the perioperative process reduces the rates of postoperative complications, reduces health care expenditures, and increases the rate of early discharge. In the literature, it has been observed that although there are many studies in which ERAS protocols are used, especially in general surgery practice, there are a limited number of studies in the field of neurosurgery. In this review, the limited literature on using ERAS protocols in neurosurgery was reviewed and discussed in our article. Anahtar Kelimeler : Enhanced recovery after surgery, ERAS, Neurosurgery
