Neck pain is a common health problem. Neck pain may be due to cervical disc herniation disease (CDHD). CDHD is actually a part of the degenerative process that occurs with age. There are radiological findings of the degenerative process in every person over the age of 50. However, in order to say CDHD, it is necessary to have symptoms. For this reason, the first target in CDHD is to treat the symptoms of the patients.

In this review, medical treatment in radiculopathies caused by CDHD will be discussed.

If there is no emergency surgical treatment indication in spine-related diseases, the general approach is to apply conservative treatment to the patient first. If the patient does not benefit from conservative treatment, surgical treatment is planned with imaging studies. It is reported that the symptoms decrease after 10-14 days of rest and analgesic treatment in most spinal diseases. Conservative treatment approaches include bed rest, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), muscle relaxants, steroids, non-pharmacological drugs, cervical collar, physical therapy methods, epidural or nerve root blocks, facet joint ablation.
