¹Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı, Adana, Türkiye Hospitals play a critical role in emergency responses and treating injuries during earthquakes. Hospital systems are at the core of disaster resilience because they must provide timely critical healthcare services to communities during an emergency response. However, natural disasters hinder their ability to operate at full capacity because of building and infrastructure damages. Thus, cities must develop strategies that enable hospitals" effective disaster operations against earthquakes. The integration of engineering activities into the preparation stages of hospitals for such natural disasters is very important. During the formation of these plans and preparations, it should be aimed to continue the structural and functional integrity of the hospitals and to continue the optimal post-earthquake health services.
