Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, Ankara Twelve patients whose temporal lobe epileptic seizures did not respond to antiepileptic drug treatment were evaluated for epilepsy surgery. Presurgical investigations included longterm waking and sleep EEG monitoring with sphenoidal electrodes and cranial CT and MRI scans. Patients with unilateral temporal epileptic focus were operated on using the surgical procedures of anterior temporal lobectomy together with amygdalohippocampectomy. Four out of five patients with the follow up of more than one year were seizure free after the operation. Anahtar Kelimeler : Amygdalohippocampectomy, Epilepsy, Surgical treatment
