Bony variations of the suprascapular notch have clinical importance since they may cause suprascapular entrapment neuropathy. In this study we examined 150 adult scapulae of different age groups. Four types of suprascapular notch were observed: 1. 27 scapulae (18 %) had no suprascapular notch, 2. 3 (2 %) had complete bony bridges, 3. 24 (16 %) had partial bridges of bone, and 4. 96 (64 %) had normal notches. When a patient with entrapment neuropathy is encountered awareness of these variations may help the surgeon and the physician. Anahtar Kelimeler : Entrapment neuropathy, scapula, suprascapular notch
