Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Nöroşirürji Anabilim Dalı, Denizli The percutaneous placement of ventriculoatrial shunts is easy, fast and minimal invazive procedure. Due to lack of scar formation, it is suitable for revisions and risk of infection is lower. Atrial end of the ventriculoperitoneal shunt was placed using percutaneos technique in two patients in which acute hydrocephalus secondary to aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage was detected. The period of operations were 25 and 30 minutes. There were no peroperative and postoperative complications. In this report, this percutaneous technique was discussed with relevant literature.
