Şişli Etfal Hastanesi Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniği, İstanbul From 120 patients treated surgically due to aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage in Şişli Etfal Hospital Department of Neurosurgery between the years 1994 and 1997,18 of them (% 15) had multiple intracranial aneurysms (MIA). In eighteen cases 47 aneurysms were diagnosed angiographically. The most common location was middle cerebral artery (MCA), and the second common location was anterior communicating artery (ACoA). The strategy of the surgical treatment was to clip first the aneurysm which caused to subarachnoid hemorrhage and also to clip as much as possible aneurysms in a single operation. It was pointed out that with advanced diagnostic techniques, the incidence of MIA increased, and the results of our study were compared and discussed with the literature.
