Chemotherapy attacks neoplastic cells, which display heterogeneity. On the other hand, anti-angiogenic approaches target homogeneous and nonneoplastic cells, mainly endothelial cells, which show less resistance. Antiangiogenic approaches have some additional advantages to chemotherapy. As malignant brain tumors, especially malignant gliomas are among the most vascularized tumors, anti-angiogenic strategies have the potential to treat these diseases. This article reviews the principles of anti-angiogenic treatment for brain tumors. Anahtar Kelimeler : Anti-angiogenesis, anti-angiogenic factors, brain tumors, clinical trials
