Ankara Numune Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Radyoloji ve Nöroşirürji Kliniği, Ankara The aim of the study is to investigate the effectivity of three dimensional computed tomographic anjiography (3D-CTA) in the diagnosis and evaluation of intracranial aneurysms. Eight patients aged 40–75 years with 16 intracranial aneurysms detected with 3D-CTA and digital substraction anjiography (DSA) have been included in the study. The presence, number, size, location and shape of aneurysms were evaluated by 3D-CT A. Thirteen aneurysms were detected with 3D-CTA and DSA. One aneurysm seen with 3D-CTA was not detected by DSA, and one aneurysm, seen with DSA, was not detected by 3D-CTA. One patient with one aneurysm which was detected by 3D-CTA refused DSA and surgery. Three dimensional computed tomographic angiography in the diagnosis and evaluation of intracranial aneurysms is a non-invasive, cheap and valuable imaging technic.
