THE MANAGEMENT OF TIP II ODONTOID FRACTURES

The management of tip II fractures are debate. The ones which are managed with external imrnobilization have a high risc of nonunion. Transodontoid screw fixation technique must be choosen at first as a surgical method.

in this report we present 13 cases of tip II odontoid fractures. We accomplished occipitocervical fusion with anterior transodontoid screw fixation on reductable 8 cases and with Y plaque on unreductable or late admission 5 cases.
