Choroid plexus pathologies originate from the choroid plexus epithelium. They have been classified as choroid plexus papillomas, atypical choroid plexus papillomas and choroid plexus carcinomas by the World Health Organization. The overall rate of choroid plexus tumors in childhood is higher than in adults and it makes up 2-4% of all intracranial tumors of children. Choroid plexus tumors are usually localized in the lateral ventricles but fourth ventricular tumors are seen more frequently with increasing age. High intracranial pressure signs and symptoms are the main features of these tumors. Hydrocephalus is considered to be the main cause of this clinical picture.

Total surgical excision provides complete recovery for choroid plexus papillomas. Choroid plexus carcinomas are highly malignant tumors, but the most important treatment is total resection of the tumor. Total surgical excision is essential to improve the survival rate in choroid plexus tumors. Anahtar Kelimeler : Choroid plexus, Tumor, Papilloma, Carcinoma, Atypical choroid plexus papilloma
