The use of radiosurgery techniques for the treatment of a variety of brain lesions is becoming widespread in neurosurgical practice. Radiosurgery is an important alternative treatment method to surgery in many intracranial lesions. Radiosurgery techniques have evolved with the development of technology and in this way the indications for radiosurgery have increased. Radiosurgery is sometimes an alternative to surgery while it is the only treatment option in others and in some cases it complements surgery. As in other radiotherapy techniques, the goal here is to provide the best tumor control and to minimize side effects. The use of minimally invasive methods is now in the foreground, and radiosurgery allows the treatment of the brain and other neural tissues to be performed externally. Gamma Knife Radiosurgery, Cyberknife Radiosurgery, Linear Accelerator Based Systems, Proton and Heavy Duty Particulate Treatment, Hypofractioned Stereotactic Radiotherapy are the systems used for this purpose.
