1Antalya Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniği, Antalya, Türkiye2Antalya Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Radyoloji Bölümü, Antalya, Türkiye Primitive neuroectodermal tumors are malignant soft tissue tumors that originate from the primitive neural crest. If the tumor originates from soft tissues outside the central nervous system, it is named as a peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor. Histopathologically, peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumors have hyperchromatic nuclei, a high nucleus/cytoplasm ratio and small round cells that show varying degrees of neural diff erentiation as determined by immunohistochemical and ultrastructural techniques. Peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumors are generally seen in young adults and children. A gender diff erence is not observed. Orbital placement is rare. We present a 21-year-old male patient who presented with a growing mass in the left eye and was operated for the retroorbital mass with a histopathological diagnosis of primitive neuroectodermal tumor.
