Head trauma with hunting weapons and especially a harpoon is very rarely observed. These injuries have relatively high mortality and morbidity rates. A 38-year-old man had a penetrating head trauma because a harpoon was accidentally fired during fishing at a lake. A harpoon was seen to penetrate into the frontal scalp and temporal muscle at the lateral side of the left eye and projected to the temporoparietal region by glancing from the frontal and temporal bone. A plain skull radiograph was taken. The harpoon was removed under local anesthesia. After imaging, removal of the foreign body in the operation room instead of the emergency room is important for the prevention of possible complications. Early and appropriate neurosurgical management may improve the patient’s outcome considerably. Anahtar Kelimeler : Penetrating head trauma, Harpoon
