They can develop as a solitary tumour or multiple tumours can develop in the spinal canal and other parts of the nervous system in patients with neurofibromatosis and schwannomatosis. The aim of the present paper is to update the information regarding epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment modalities and postoperative course of spinal schwannomas.
