MATERIAL and METHODS: The study is in survey form with responses to 5 scenarios and 10 questions. A statistically significant difference between law school and medical school final year students was determined on the malpractice-complication distinction. Career preferences and mutual trust were questioned with 5 professional satisfaction questions.
RESULTS: According to the results of this study, the significant differences on the malpractice-complication distinction between health practitioners and lawyers can lead to a lack of trust between the two groups.
CONCLUSION: Education of medical school students with law faculty and education of law school students with health professionals who have received law education during their academic courses with a specific curriculum can contribute to the solution of the problem. In addition, the organization of joint symposiums and medical law conferences can provide an important contribution to a better understanding of each other.
