Adli Tıp Kurumu Başkanlığı, İstanbul, Türkiye Rhabdomyosarcoma is a malignant tumor derived from soft tissue and is more common in children. They are often seen in the head and neck regions in childhood. It is extremely rare in the head and neck of adults. During the autopsy of a 35-year-old female, we found a rigid mass on the sella turcica of the sphenoid bone at the neighborhood of the right eyeball that had lead to lysis. The borders of the tumor could not be clearly distinguished and it contained dark green to brown colored purulent fluid. On histopathological examination, malignant mesenchymal tumor was detected in the brain parenchyma compatible with alveolar type rhabdomyosarcoma. We determined that the case had died as a result of the intracranial complications of rhabdomyosarcoma. We believe our case deserved to be presented due to the rarity of rhabdomyosarcoma in adults and also in the head and neck region. Anahtar Kelimeler : Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, Lysis, Death, Autopsy
