¹Mustafa Kemal Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı, Hatay, Türkiye Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a clinical condition that is observed at an annual incidence of 9/100000, and this incidence increases with age. Compared to the 1980s, current mortality rates are lower but still high. In patients presenting with SAH, studies related to the factors affecting the prognosis have been performed at the molecular level, especially regarding neuroinflammation mechanisms, for a long time. Despite this intensity of molecular studies related to factors that may affect the prognosis of SAH, there are only a few population-based studies on the factors affecting the prognosis and functional outcomes of this disease in the literature. Determination of the prognostic factors in SAH will help plan more distinctive treatment modalities and assess the survival outcomes of the patients presenting with this clinical condition more realistically. This article evaluates the factors affecting the prognosis in molecular and clinical terms, accompanied by the current literature.
