The future Neurosurgeons will consider our current practice elementary but with great appreciation, respect and amusement, just like the way we consider our predecessors from 8000 years ago who performed trepanation. The frightening part of this is that the duration between our predecessors and us is 8000 years but the duration between us and future Neurosurgeons will only be 40-50 years. We will continue to be excited about the new technological and scientific developments in Neurosurgery along with the long journey of mankind.
