The progress in technology and knowledge has demonstrated that stem cell therapy may be an alternative treatment for diseases in which current medicine is inadequate. The more common use of this treatment in central nervous system diseases has also provided new treatment modalities and application areas in neurosurgery. In our study, basic information about stem cells is shared first. Then, stem cell therapy technology applied in nervous system diseases and new developments in neurosurgery practice in our country are given by using the current literature.
