1Başkent Üniversitesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı, Ankara, Türkiye The incidence of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is around 11/100000. It constitutes 6-8% of all cerebrovascular events. Approximately 15-30% of patients with aneurysmal SAH fall before they reach the health facility. 25-40% of those who reach the health institution are mortal. The timing of the treatment of aneurysmal SAH in these rates, the treatment method to be applied and the timely recognition and prevention of the complications that may occur are of vital importance. However, the discussion of the timing of aneurysm surgery after subarachnoid hemorrhage is aimed at balancing the risk of surgical morbidity when performing an early surgery in a severely injured brain against balancing the transient risk of fatal bleeding. Therefore, despite the general truth, rigid algorithms should be avoided and patient based evaluations should be made in the approach and treatment of SAH.
