¹Ordu Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı, Ordu, Türkiye Spinal traumas are common disorders in neurosurgical practice, but it can be difficult to decide on the diagnosis and treatment options. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of medico-legal cases in our country and in the world. This increase in the number of medico-legal cases reveals that we need to be very careful in the diagnosis and treatment process management of a patient group that is open to complications, such as spinal trauma, and have high morbidity and mortality rate. When analyzed in general, neurosurgery specialists are one of the most frequently involved specialties in malpractice cases. In this article, the basic concepts that should be known in terms of the law and the issues to be considered in case management are discussed.
