Exoscope and Robotic Surgery Techniques in Neurosurgery

Thanks to those types of instruments, it is foreseen that surgical interventions will be made as noninvasive as possible. Accordingly, a significant decrease in complication rates, shorter hospitalization times, and more satisfactory cosmetic results will be achieved. Although integrating these systems, which still have some disadvantages, into cranial surgery, which requires long-term work in a stable position, especially in very limited areas, has not been fully realized, they are considered promising devices by many authors in terms of ergonomics and surgical convenience. This article discusses a general review and evaluations in light of the current literature for robotic surgical instruments and exoscopes, whose properties, types, advantages and disadvantages are generally mentioned.
