Cervical spondylotic myelopathy occurs as a result of damage to the spinal cord by these degenerative changes. Cervical spondylotic myelopathy is the most common form of spinal cord injury in adults and accounts for a large proportion of nontraumatic spinal cord injuries. Cervical spondylotic myelopathy does not show clinical symptoms in the early period. However, if it progresses, it causes significant neurological morbidities. Early diagnosis and treatment of cervical spondylotic myelopathy before it causes irreversible spinal cord damage is critical to maintain the quality of life of patients. The fact that the frequency of cervical spondylotic myelopathy is increasing every day also leads to an increase in the number of surgical treatments for this disease.
