1Tarsus Devlet Hastanesi, Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniği, Mersin, Türkiye DOI : 10.5137/1019-5157.TND.3347 Spinal cord injury (SCI) continues to persist as a significant clinical challenge, often leading to devastating motor, sensory, and autonomic impairments. In recent years, notable advancements have been made in neurotechnologies aimed at promoting function recovery and healing in individuals with SCI. This review will provide an in-depth examination of recent neurotechnologies for SCI treatment, focusing on epidural electrical stimulation, intraspinal microstimulation, and brain-computer interfaces.

By highlighting the mechanisms of action, associated challenges, and future directions of each modality, this review aims to demonstrate the potential of these current approaches to enhance care for SCI patients and improve outcomes for affected individuals. Additionally, spinal cord stimulation (SCS), which is already in current practical use, will also be discussed. Anahtar Kelimeler : Spinal cord injury, Functional neurosurgery, Spinal cord stimulation
