CAVERNOUS ANGIMAS
1Adana Numune Hastanesi Nöroşirürji Kıiniği, Adana2Ankara Numune Hastanesi Nöroşirürji Kıiniği, Ankara Cavernous angiomas, a well circumscribed, benign vascular hamartoma consisting of irregular sinusoidal vascular channels located within the brain; but lacking intervening neural parenchyma, large feeding arteries or large draining veins. They are not true neoplasms, but mimics neoplasms clinically, and radiologically. Cavernous angiomas are vascular malformations that can occur in all parts of the central nervous system; but most commonly in the cerebral hemispheres. In this article, ten cavernous angioma cases in five different locaÜzations have been presented. (cerebral hemispheres 3, calvarium 1, orbita 3, spinal extradural 2, spinal intramedullary 1) They have been evaluated according to the aspects of clinical and radiological presentation and surgical treatments.
