It is a serious and progressive disease leading to neurologic disability. When compared with its natural prognosis, the surgical treatment provides a better outcome. In cases in which surgery is indicated an anterior, posterior or combined decompression can be performed. The use of an appropriate surgical approach is the most impostant part of surgical decision-making process.
