INTRAORBITAL FOREIGN BODY: (CASE REPORT)

Objective: To present the clinical, radiological and surgical characteristics of an orbital foreign body.

Methods: We report a four years-old boy who suffered orbital penetration with stern of a watercolor brush. The stern passed through the left orbit, exiting via the superior orbital fissure. The foreign body was removed by orbito frantal craniotomy.

Results: Retained intraorbital wooden foreign materia! may lead to complications such as proptosis of the eye diplopia, orbital cellulitis, periorbital abscess and fistulae. The radiological diagnosis can be difficult. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are the choice of investigations. lntraorbital foreign bodies have to be removed to prevent complications.
