Sympathectomy procedures has been started to perform since 19th century and the procedure has been evolved into less invasive and more effective methods overtime. Whereas the procedure of sympathectomy has been evolved eventually, the technical method used, the number of port used, localization of the ports in sympathectomy, or the level of the sympathectomy has been controversial. Hyperhidrosis is the main indication area for thoracoscopic sympathectomy and the success rate of the thoracoscopic sympathectomy is about 95 % in this disease. Raynaud's Syndrome Buerger Disease (Thromboangiitis Obliterans), long QT syndrome, refractory angina and to increase the blood flow at the palmar arch following arterial embolus are other applications of the sympathectomy, although lower success rate of the sympathectomy in these diseases. The most encountered complication is compensatory hyperhidrosis. The efforts has been performed to make thoracoscopic thoracal sympathectomy with less invasive equipments and methods.
